Before And After Weight Loss

I’m having one of those great days in my weight loss journey where I really feel like I’m making a difference for myself. I had about 10 compliments on my weight loss today, as well as noticing I’ve now doubled AT MINIMUM all weights I’m doing at the gym, some up by about 4x over the course of the last 3 months. I also realised something awesome - I’m not afraid to show off my arms anymore! Now I still have a lot to lose - a good 30kg/65lb. But I’m proud of what I’ve done so far, and want to show the new people that it is doable - even when you eat “bad foods!” I had tacos for dinner tonight, bbq last night, and I don’t deprive myself of anything. 
I know it’s not much and it’s not all that noticeable yet, but it’s a start. :)

May 4th, 2011 I weighed in at 215 and my waist was 46” around. I met with a free health coach for the first time at my Dr’s office. She put it to me straight. Change my ways or die young.
May 4th, 2012 I weigh 133.5 pounds and my waist is 33”. (goal was to get to 135) 
Total loss: 81.5 pounds 
Waist loss: 13” 
Pant size: Was a tight 18, now a 4 
Shirt size: Was 2XL, now a small 
Life gained: Not measurable!

I’ve found maintinence to be challenging in different ways than losing the weight has been. Nowadays, I work out 5 days a week and rest 2. Generally, I jog for about half an hour a day. Other than that, eating my maintenance calories and doing little stuff like taking the stairs, I have been able to keep it off. The main thing is making sure I get in those 5 workouts, no matter what! 

And, in the spirit of my original post: 

If my lazy butt can lose and now keep off 100lbs for 2 years and counting….ANYONE can. Start your change now.

8 more pounds to loose to reach my goal weight, and lots of toning before summer creeps up on me! I am at my smallest ever adult weight, and man does it feel good!! Although, I’m struggling with body image. I’m still seeing the fat girl in the mirror, my brain hasn’t caught up with my weight loss yet.

Day 34

I hadn’t actually weighed myself since the first week, and so I was quite surprised to see that I’d lost roughly 3 pounds in the month or so that I’ve been exercising. I don’t have a digital scale and my eyesight isn’t great so I think it’s 3 pounds but it could be slightly more, but either way I’m fairly happy with my progress. This comparison isn’t particularly amazing as I think I’m sucking in my breath a tiny bit in the later picture, but it’s still a fairly accurate representation. There’s still some belly to lose before I can start muscle building on my abs. I’m happy with this. Though I’d admit to a twinge of envy to those before-after pictures I see where they’ve gone from where I started to toned as hell in 4 weeks, but I guess they worked a lot harder than I did. 

I didn’t do any active exercise today per se, but I had a full-on rehearsal for West Side Story in which we were running and jumping about for roughly 3 hours so that pretty much counts. I still did my 25 second plank, though. I’m amazed by how fastly I’m able to up my planking time, to be honest. It feels really good to make progress with something quickly. 

My diet today was fairly good. I’ve got to stop waking up so late that I skip breakfast. In honesty, I need to start getting to bed earlier in general. I might add that to my list of goals. I had some bananas and some pitta bread for breakfast. Got home from rehearsal and had an apple with some peanut butter, and am having this really nice lamb dish for dinner that possibly in’t healthy. I had a lot of orange juice today as well as some lemon water. I need to drink more just-water to be honest.
